What is the Evolt 360?
The Evolt 360 is a set of scales that uses special frequencies to meausre the composition of your body. This is avilable at PhysioLife Heidelberg.
How does it work?
Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis or Bio impedance Analysis (BIA) works by passing a safe, low intensity electrical current through the body via the tactile points on the machine (feet and hands). The response of biological tissues to an alternating electrical signal applied produces a bioelectrical impedance which is a function of tissue composition as well as the frequency of the applied electrical signal. Impedance varies with tissue structure, tissue composition, tissue health, and signal frequency. The resistance to flow of the alternating current determines the difference between muscle mass, fat mass (including visceral and subcutaneous), water and mineral.
Who should get an Evolt 360 body scan?

How long does a scan take?
Evolt 360 scans generally take 45-60 seconds. Please allow upto 5 minutes for your first scan if you do not have an Evolt Active account. This is due to having to input data including height and age.
How often should I get an Evolt 360 body scan?
We recommend getting scanned every 4-6 weeks. This is due to the gradual process of body composition change. Most people with consistent training and diet will notice a change within 4 weeks.
How do I understand the results?
There is a detailed explanation on the reverse side of the results sheet. If you have a personal trainer we recommend that you discuss your results with them and factor in your current goals and program. Alternatively our staff at PhysioLife Heidelberg can run through the results with you.
How much do Evolt 360 bodyscans at PhysioLife Heidelberg cost?
We have recently simplified the cost of scans as follows;
Scans are free of charge! We consider this to be a community service to assist in maintaining healthy body composition. We recommend you discuss the results with your personal trainer, coach, doctor or you are welcome to book a physio appt with one of our friendly staff to discuss your results and talk about any improvements that you can make!
When should I get An Evolt 360 scan done?
We recommend that scans be done at the same time and under the same conditions for each scan. The best circumstances to present are first thing in the morning, fasted and prior to training. We also recommend that you do not shower within 2 hours of scan as this can change the impedance of your skin.
Who shouldnt get an Evolt 360 scan done?
We recommend that you do not get scanned if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implanted device, are taking medications that can affect water retention in the body or have significant metal implants eg. hip replacement.
